One upgrade. Two seasons.

Heating in winter.
Cooling in summer.

A reverse-cycle air conditioner moves heat to warm your home in winter and provides refrigerated cooling in summer. Compare a whole-home ducted design with room-by-room options before deciding what suits your property.

The changeover starts with an assessment of the gas heater, ducts, outlets, installation access and electrical requirements. Existing ductwork may need replacement or modification.

Before your changeover

Gas replacement
questions answered.

Can I replace gas ducted heating with electric heating and cooling?

A suitable reverse-cycle system can provide electric heating and refrigerated cooling. Our team assesses the rooms, installation space, electrical supply and existing equipment before recommending a design.

Can the existing ducts be reused?

They need to be assessed. Duct sizing, condition, insulation, outlets and airflow requirements may differ, so do not assume the existing ductwork is suitable for the new system.

Is a VEU rebate guaranteed?

No. The property, existing equipment, approved product and installation must meet the program requirements. Arrange the upgrade through an accredited provider or an installer working with an accredited provider before work begins, and confirm the discount in writing.

Will I have to pay for the upgrade?

Yes, VEU heating and cooling upgrades require a customer contribution. The complete price depends on the equipment and installation work. Your quote should identify the eligible discount and final amount payable.

What happens to the old gas heater?

Where the VEU upgrade requires decommissioning, the replaced heater must be made unusable. Required removal, disposal and gas work should be agreed as part of the installation scope before you book.

How much could I save on running costs?

Potential savings depend on the old and new systems, the home, energy tariffs, insulation and how the system is used. We do not promise a fixed bill saving; compare suitable efficient equipment and your own energy use with our team.
